Our entire collection is carefully curated with an extremely picky and discerning eye that captures the heart and soul of these weavers, and the story they share in their nomadic masterpieces.

Age: Antique, C. 1930's or so
Pile: Low-worn pile with gorgeous age-related patina. Ancient old touch-ups and repairs are all done by hand. Lovely Character-rich pieces!
About: These pieces are incredible and will INSTANTLY add nearly 100 years of character to any space. Nice floppy textiles that are soft. This is because the pile is wool, but also the foundation is wool speaking to its nomadic nature. It is always recommended for those wool/wool pieces to have a nice pad underneath because that will give it some extra body and support (all hand-knotted rugs should have a pad underneath - this is always best practice!) All in all, these are worn, old, moody and earthy with some sensational charm and lots of unique elements in these, including the "running water" motifs woven around the perimeter to both honor one of God's gifts to earth, water, but also woven around the perimeter to signify protection and ward off any evil from entering the rug! Also, lots of nice Mountain ranges, and even a gorgeous yet subtle Tree of Life motif in the larger darker piece that stands inside of the earthy camel-colored field. WONDERFUL Sister Pieces woven from the same region offering some nice similarities but of course being so different and unique in their own right!
This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one in the world, no others are available.
Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.

Our rugs are woven by nomads in the villages and remote mountainous regions of the major rug weaving districts across the world. All of our rugs are genuinely old and one-of-a-kind. Like anything old and unique, they are filled with character, soul, and story. The story of a rug is something we think about a lot; who was the weaver(s)? Did they weave it for personal use, commerce, gift, or trade? Who was the second owner, and the third!? Sometimes the little motifs and symbols in rugs can help tell the story, but we will never truly know - there's something beautiful about that. Alas, our joy is to curate these incredible pieces that speak to us, and to pass them along to their new owners to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come; both continuing to add to the story of the rug, and to the story of the new owners.
