About: This is truly one of the most soulful pieces we've ever come across and have ever acquired. Wool pile with natural goat hair as the foundation speak to the essence of its tribal nature. This piece comes from the Southwest mountains of the greatest rug weaving country in the world. This design is inspired by the old Coat of Arms of the ancient army, and equally the 3 medallions each represent home or the tent of the weavers - the blue usually refers to as a pond or water. The amount of greens in this rug is simply astonishing - green is the most difficult color to dye in the mountains and villages, and to see this much green is significant. The softer ice blues are a wonderful decision by the weavers and dyers to balance the wonderfully rich and handsome strawberry red. There is beautiful village life woven throughout this piece with so many asymmetrical elements in the spontaneous weavings; birds, peacocks, fish, sheep, dogs, chickens, shrubs, trees, stars, pinwheels and so many more icons and symbols are woven throughout - this piece is a story book unfolding in front of our eyes.
