Name: STUNNING European-Sized Antique Rug | Gorgeous Artistic Camel Colors Beauty with Rare Size

Size: ~ 9 x 14

Age: Antique

Pile: Low

About: A TRULY sensational piece from top to bottom, inside and out! It has everything;  It is Old, beautiful, organic, and unusual. AMAZINGLY RARE SIZE; usually we see this in roughly 9x12, but the extra 2 feet in length gives it that nice European feel making it a large and slender piece. Perfect for dining rooms to entertain, larger living or great rooms or living quarters as well, and lastly for bedrooms makes sure both people will land on the rug when they roll out of the bed. This is a VERY artistic example for this village in Iran.  This design captures a very sophisticated feel while of course keeping the pulse of that Nomadic and Raw, Pure Energy that exceptional village rugs have.  This piece has a really lovely camel color throughout instead of the common antique beige. The powerful medallion with ornate and super artistic and strong finials, beautiful corners spandrels, and an ancient old turtle border are influenced by the many animals and plant life that surrounds these weavers near the lush green fields and creeks nearby. . When you see seafoam and greens with teals jetting through -  IMMEDIATELY you can identify it as a very old piece.  These colors were used way back in the day and yes it's beautiful, but when you look at it closely - you see the humanity, the artistic touch, the weaver's merit - you see the details of just how incredible the organic nature of true dyes, woven one small knot at a time - THIS is true art. This piece has lots of nice patina throughout, it's worn and distressed in some areas but nothing to worry about - we can even secure and reinforce some of the areas if you want us to - just ask.  If you do want us to secure both of the fringe ends for you, my grandfather does it all by hand and we will charge $145 per side for it for his time and labor.  Normally for a piece this size, it is $200-250 per side.  Make no mistake, you will NOT find this size again, it is so incredibly rare and if you're a lover of colorful rich natural dyes, amazingly interesting design throughout, and a genuine piece of art that will both anchor and elevate the room - this piece has to be a contender.

This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one available.

Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.

We always recommend a high-quality custom cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding.

A note from us to you: Buying a rug is special; it's not just you finding the rug, but also the rug finding you. Think about the many coincidences that have to occur for you to find the rug of your dreams. Our rugs are woven by nomads in the villages and remote mountainous regions of the major rug weaving districts across the world. All of our rugs are genuinely old and one-of-a-kind. Like anything old and unique, they are filled with character, soul, and story. The story of a rug is something we think about a lot; who was the weaver(s)? Did they weave it for personal use, commerce, to gift, or trade? Who was the second owner, and the third!? Sometimes the little motifs and symbols in rugs can help tell the story, but we will never truly know - there's something beautiful about that. Alas, our joy is to curate these incredible pieces that speak to us, and to pass them along to their new owners to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come; both continuing to add to the story of the rug, and to the story of the new owners.
