About: The most artistic and arabesque designs, playfully poetic and dramatically beautiful - these weavers somehow capture the essence of nature in their pieces almost better than any other village. An infinite garden blooming throughout in the most unusual color palette you've ever seen. Pastel blues, pinks, with soft beige, sand, rose gold, soft copper, mocha, variations of blues, lavenders, lilacs, caramel, salmon, terracotta, old English rose, rows of subtle raspberry, and more. You can look at this rug and see something new every time - this is a high compliment to the weaver - she/they wove this with such dedication and detail that it is so hard to believe when you open it up and lay in down in the space. The rug will change the entire mood of the room - this piece exudes an airiness, a lightness, and beautiful feminine energy - cloud-like and effervescent in a way. At the same time, and depending on if you're looking at the rug from the light or dark side (more on this below), it can also read soft yet rich and moody. It is really a tricky rug because it shifts hues from the glossy and lanolin-rich wool. All in all, you will absolutely love this piece - it is a large rug and perfect for those looking for an authentic hand-knotted and old antique with a lighter palette which is very hard to find. A unique, one-of-a-kind jewel. When it comes to rugs, any rug that has a medium to the high pile will have a lighter and a darker side based on whether you're looking at the rug into the pile/nap, or with the pile and nap. For example, if you're looking at the rug from the pile facing you, the rug seems darker and richer- if you're looking at the rug with the nap going away from you - the rug will be much lighter and airier because you're looking on the surface of the pile. It is similar to a suede or velvet the way it reads darker or lighter depending on how you look at it.
This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one available.
Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.

We always recommend a high-quality custom cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding.
A note from us to you: Buying a rug is special; it's not just you finding the rug, but also the rug finding you. Think about the many coincidences that have to occur for you to find the rug of your dreams. Our rugs are woven by nomads in the villages and remote mountainous regions of the major rug weaving districts across the world. All of our rugs are genuinely old and one-of-a-kind. Like anything old and unique, they are filled with character, soul, and story. The story of a rug is something we think about a lot; who was the weaver(s)? Did they weave it for personal use, commerce, to gift, or trade? Who was the second owner, and the third!? Sometimes the little motifs and symbols in rugs can help tell the story, but we will never truly know - there's something beautiful about that. Alas, our joy is to curate these incredible pieces that speak to us, and to pass them along to their new owners to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come; both continuing to add to the story of the rug, and to the story of the new owners.
