About: This is borderline a Collector's item with the VERY RARE Sky Blue background color - I would say for every 100 rugs woven, there's one Sky blue one!! In addition to the main color, the accompanied colors are sensational - terracotta, antique beige, rare emerald green, and even some espresso and deep walnut hues. The design is nearly an all-over design but still honors the bolder angular and artistic shapes caucasian rugs are so known for - in short, this pattern is the best of both worlds and any rug enthusiast or collector knows a unique piece when they see it - this piece will make everyone double or triple take!! The amazing floppy handle due to the wool-on-wool construction, and the strength and powerful symbolism in the ram horns are an ode to the strength and resilience of the very people that wove this piece and weave these pieces of art in the heavily war-ridden areas of the Caucasus mountains North of Persian and South of the old USSR. The area itself was always changing with migrations, tribal feuds and everything in between - these beautifully strong people had difficult lives, and their growth and perseverance shows in their art - this being a living and breathing example of it.
