Name: STUNNING Antique Northwest Persian Runner | Epitome of Village Weaving at its BEST 

Size: 2.9 x 11   

Age: Antique, C. 1920's 

Pile: Low/Medium soft and plush pile throughout - this piece has some lovely age-related patina with some battle scars and ancient restoration that was magnificently done (see pics) - top notch and all in all, it is bullet-proof and perfect for high traffic, especially with a custom cut pad! 

About: ONE OF THE BEST RUNNERS WE'VE EVER HAD - A very old piece with lots of incredible stories to tell! Magenta to strawberry, Tons of Camel, Indigo, Ice & French Blue, smokey charcoal, and even EXOTIC GREENS with amazing animals and people subjects woven inside!! UNREAL! This piece seems to have been re-sized but it's hard to say because it's either so masterfully done or it is age-related wear.  Anyone that knows rugs that see this runner laying in your space will flip out, it is a true show-stopper. I can tell you of all the runners I have ever seen IN MY LIFE - this is without a doubt top 3 of all time.  The weavers have woven their fellow villagers and/or family in the rug, there are mystical creatures that look like camels and/or dragons, and the way in which the branches are woven in the border is in a style that you see in Kufic writing that resembles the ancient form of calligraphy - is there a secret meaning to the border that we don't know?! Maybe, maybe not - but definitely, the motifs and symbols inside the rug have symbolism that we know ancient weavers wove into their rugs as this was their personal dairy in many ways.  Great body, a wonderful handle, and soft yet strong wool that will last. This is one of those pieces that you can sit and look at with happy eyes, as you will find pleasant surprises each time you look at it.  There hasn't been a runner that has moved me like this in a very long time 💜  I hope it speaks to you as well!

Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces -  irregularities, ancient old repairs/touch-ups, and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.
