About: Some rugs just exude soul and nomadic essence - this is one of them. The village of the Southwest Mountains is where this piece originates from and these weavers are so mystical and pure. You can see in their pieces that there is a naive and elementary "simplicity" to them - even though they are often filled with detail and village life, there's a purity and a ease to them that you can't find with many other pieces. Filled with "boteh" design seeds surrounding a Tri-medallion design filled with chickens and trees. This rug is floppy due to the wonderful wool pile woven on wool foundation, natural goat and sheep wool. Sensational old-world and raw feel with a SPECTACULAR color palette. Where will you find these colors? Not often you see the super cool and earthy combo with tons of teals, slate blues, greens, caramel and espresso, coffee and camel, and saffron, gold, sunflower yellows and more. Not even an ounce of red can be found in this piece - and that is special. Red is the most common dye in rugs, so to see one zero trace of it means the weavers and dyers took even more time to make this piece come to life. There was the intention there; "we will make something unique" may have been a north star in the inception and execution of this piece. Lovely charming village piece in a very nice medium size; perfect for a foyer, small kitchenette or dining area, bedroom, den, office, or anywhere else! You will LOVE this piece!
