Name:  INCREDIBLE High-End Collector's Piece | Antique Persian Kurdish Senneh Bidjar - UNREAL Colors with Iconic Herati Design & Serapi Border

Size: 3.7 x 6.2

Age: Antique, C. 1920

Pile: Low with amazing age-related wear, all ends have been secured and ready to go - truly remarkable piece.

About: Truth is, I almost kept this for my personal collection.   This piece is woven in my absolute FAVORITE rug weaving village in the entire galaxy - these weavers and nomads dye the best colors in my opinion, as each knot is deeper and richer than any other knot from any other rug weaving village due to the health of the derived plants and environment along with the healthy sheep.  You will have to see these colors in person to believe them - these pics or videos don't do it justice AT ALL.  If you look closely at this piece, you will find a small area in the field of the rug that has motifs woven in them in an antique beige color that I've never seen before - I'm not sure if it's something unique to the weaver, a secret message, or if it was intended for someone important - but whatever it is it's awfully interesting.  This little area is just one of many aspects you'll notice in this piece throughout the entire time of owning it - the colors alone will have your eyed drinking it up for decades and the iconic motifs both inside the field and the design of the border are an exceptional example of them at their best.  The elongated and artistic asymmetrical nature of the Serapi turtle borders will make you cry and the fish and decorative fish scales inside swimming throughout the indigo ocean under the moonlight will have you wanting to put on your skimpies and take a dip into the water! Pure wool pile and organic wool foundation speaking to its nomadic nature - a TRUE GEM - music of the eyes.

This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one in the world, no others are available.

Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.

Any questions about this rug? Don't hesitate to reach out!

We always recommend a high-quality custom cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding.

A note from us to you: Buying a rug is special; it's not just you finding the rug, but also the rug finding you. Think about the many coincidences that have to occur for you to find the rug of your dreams. Our rugs are woven by nomads in the villages and remote mountainous regions of the major rug weaving districts across the world. All of our rugs are genuinely old and one-of-a-kind. Like anything old and unique, they are filled with character, soul, and story. The story of a rug is something we think about a lot; who was the weaver(s)? Did they weave it for personal use, commerce, to gift, or trade? Who was the second owner, and the third!? Sometimes the little motifs and symbols in rugs can help tell the story, but we will never truly know - there's something beautiful about that. Alas, our joy is to curate these incredible pieces that speak to us, and to pass them along to their new owners to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come; both continuing to add to the story of the rug, and to the story of the new owners.
