This rug is in great condition for its age and has some subtle patina (see photos), but all in all she is a gem. The amount of natural and spontaneous change in colors (known as abrash) in this rug is incredible. Blues change to chocolate and mocha colors with subtle blush and teals. The design itself is so unique - although most rug woven in villages lean toward the more geometric side, this has a grace and elegance about it with the focal medallion being a beautiful flower and the 4 spandrels that corner it seem to be sections of that very medallion. This is a beautiful example of an artistic decision of the weaver, and this very weaver was extremely talented with how dense the knots are and how tightly woven this piece is. She was a true master. This piece has soul and energy to it, some rugs you can just feel it - this should go to a special space. Due to the nature of old and antique rugs, no issues or wear are considered defects, rather flaws and stories. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out. <*> Don't forget to add a PAD! Our high quality pads help keep your new rug & floors in excellent shape! Our pads are specifically for high quality hand-knotted rugs. They are custom cut to your exact rug size. 3/8 inch thick, they provide structure to extend the longevity and quality of your rug. These pads are also reversible for all types of floors (wood, carpet, tile, marble, etc); high quality rubber on one side lays on your hard surface and it prevents slipping and sliding and decreases folding and wrinkling of rugs, and high quality micro-fiber on the other side that will help grip to wall to wall carpet if your rug is going on a carpet floor. .<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.<>.
