About: One of the most attractive runners we've ever had. How charming can you get with animals woven all the way throughout? Not to mention they are all different, some decorated in the coat and some on the feet. Each of them in either dark indigo, or camel, or even earthy greens and soft blues. The 7 medallions that create the design in the middle are all different, all unique, and all tell a story. The first one at the bottom being the most asymmetrical as the weaver's naivety is shown based on the lines and shapes not being even or straight in the perimeter - this is what you want in old tribal rugs. You want the imperfections that tell a story - that story we will never know - but we can think and pontificate and try our very best to put the pieces together and connect the dots. The rusty clay hues that shift from darker to lighter is the perfect field color for the stark indigo contrast, only to be softened up with the antique beige and slate sky blues. Then the greens make an appearance which is so pretty it's not even funny! The border is airy to really lighten the entire rug and frame it perfectly to draw your eye to the center. But the border alone is nothing to ignore, beautiful geometric shapes connecting without connecting, still offering some playful and colorful elements for us to enjoy. You will love the pile of this rug as the lanolin-rich wool gives us the soft feel underfoot and the sheen we love when we look at it. Nice floppy handle and organic goat hair foundation make the flexible and pliable piece soft yet dense. This is one of the best runners we've ever had, and without a doubt, it will elevate your space from beautiful to soulful, charming, eclectic, and playfully beautiful!!

This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one available.

Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects. Any questions about this rug? Don't hesitate to reach out!

We always recommend a high-quality custom cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding.

A note from us to you: Buying a rug is special; it's not just you finding the rug, but also the rug finding you. Think about the many coincidences that have to occur for you to find the rug of your dreams. Our rugs are woven by nomads in the villages and remote mountainous regions of the major rug weaving districts across the world. All of our rugs are genuinely old and one-of-a-kind. Like anything old and unique, they are filled with character, soul, and story. The story of a rug is something we think about a lot; who was the weaver(s)? Did they weave it for personal use, commerce, to gift, or trade? Who was the second owner, and the third!? Sometimes the little motifs and symbols in rugs can help tell the story, but we will never truly know - there's something beautiful about that. Alas, our joy is to curate these incredible pieces that speak to us, and to pass them along to their new owners to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come; both continuing to add to the story of the rug, and to the story of the new owners.
