Name: SALVADOR DALI -esk Collector's Antique Persian Kashan with Manchester Wool | Paradise Tree of Life Design with Birds, Grapes & More! Maybe Mohtasham
Size: 10.9 x 14.10
Age: TURN OF THE CENTURY or so, Antique, C. 1880's to Early 1900's
Pile: Low/Medium pile with MANCHESTER WOOL - basically the closest thing to velvet-silk. Some expected wear and patina throughout due to its over 100 years of life. Some subtle (but to me insignificant) color transfer here and there as most of these Dyes were Natural but still the warm hues could be seen in the beige and antique linen hues throughout. This piece STILL has 90% of its most outer perimeter "Fence" design which is Astonishing, and all things considered, it is in Excellent condition. Some ancient areas that were tidied up but nothing significant at all. The bindings or salvages have already been rebound and we can secure the fringe for you before shipping out, no problem. We do this all by hand and it turns out incredible. You will love it!
About: I honestly shouldn't even write anything and just say "refer to the video and pictures to send a SHOCK WAVE through your body and for your HEART SKIP a few beats", but of course, I can't - I must ruin this MASTERFUL ART with my words because it's hard to look at this piece and not want to talk about it. But, instead of writing in my normal fashion - I'll just list a handful of words that come to mind when drinking this carpet up with the eyes; Vibrant, Whimsical, Mystical, Masterful, Unmatched Flocks of Paradise Birds, Detailed Peacocks, Bark-Details on the Tree Trunks, Unbelievable Grape Vines, Magnificent Abrash, Mind-Blowing Tiny 1-Haired Paint Brush Level Detail, Classic Persian Poetry, Fully Bloomed Flora, Luxury x 10, Iconic Art, High-End Quality, Playful-Salvador Dali-like Energy, Van Gogh-like Movement, Rembrandt-like Composure, Picasso-like Naivety, Leanardo-like Execution... this is a 100K Knot-Filled Antique Persian Masterpiece that was Architected from the Heart, Engineered from the Mind, and Woven from the Soul - we will NEVER see another like it! I am not positive, but this could be a Mohtasham Kashan, in which case it was woven by and/or under the eye and workshop of the World Famous 19th Century Master weaver Hadji Mollah Mohammed Hassan Mohtasham; the rug World's Dali, Rembrandt or the likes of. Enjoy!
This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one available.
Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.
Any questions about this rug? Don't hesitate to reach out!
We always recommend a high-quality custom-cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding.
A note from us to you: Buying a rug is special; it's not just you finding the rug, but also the rug finding you. Think about the many coincidences that have to occur for you to find the rug of your dreams. Our rugs are woven by nomads in the villages and remote mountainous regions of the major rug weaving districts across the world. All of our rugs are genuinely old and one-of-a-kind. Like anything old and unique, they are filled with character, soul, and story. The story of a rug is something we think about a lot; who was the weaver(s)? Did they weave it for personal use, commerce, to gift, or trade? Who was the second owner, and the third!? Sometimes the little motifs and symbols in rugs can help tell the story, but we will never truly know - there's something beautiful about that. Alas, our joy is to curate these incredible pieces that speak to us, and to pass them along to their new owners to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come; both continuing to add to the story of the rug, and to the story of the new owners.
