Age: Antique, C. 1930's or so
Pile: Medium/Low pile with strong wool and lovely age-related wear and patina. This piece has some areas of distress / old repairs (see pics - nothing crazy at all!)
About: OMG, did someone say RAW MYSTICAL ENERGY?! Anything camel hair and camel hair colors really speak to my soul - something so primitive and minimal about this material that not only works with dyes so well, but the light hits this strong fiber a little differently. You can almost see how strong the fibers are just from looking at it. This piece in general is a wonderfully long and rare size, with a gorgeous pattern and an amazing accompanying color palette to feed the eyes and soul non-stop 365 days a year! Lay this in a hallway to pronounce the hallway, turning what may be a narrow transition space, into a walkway of art-filled, intentional, and thought-provoking experience for you and others. Or, place this in a long entryway, commercial space, or wherever you creative cats can think of! We just don't see many of these marvels and we're lucky and honored to have this piece in our collection - wherever it ends up, it'll carry with it it's positive juju from the fingers of the talented artisans that wove it together.

Did they weave it for personal use, commerce, to gift, or trade? Who was the second owner, and the third!? Sometimes the little motifs and symbols in rugs can help tell the story, but we will never truly know - there's something beautiful about that. Alas, our joy is to curate these incredible pieces that speak to us, and to pass them along to their new owners to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come; both continuing to add to the story of the rug, and to the story of the new owners.
