About: It's funny because there is a NEW saying in the rug world; bad rugs photograph well, good rugs photograph poorly.  Cameras help inferior rugs look better - while cameras can't do a lick of justice to the Jaw-dropping pieces in real life - this is a perfect example.  These photos don't do this piece AN OUNCE OF JUSTICE!!! This is a DROP DEAD GORGEOUS piece that will turn any pessimist into an Optimist in a heartbeat.  You can't look at this piece and have your molecules smiling from head to toe.  The sensational Icy blue border, rare, and gorgeous, adds such a nice frame to let the warm variations of rust, autumn, clay, and matured brick create the canvas in the field.  The number of pastel greens, pastel blues, pastel pinks, and even soft and toned down yellows are some of the most beautifully harmonious color arrangements I've ever seen in a rug.  The toned-down daisy and sunflower yellows with the saffron yellow-golds bring the sunshine throughout this piece which energizes even the most hyper greens that you'll find throughout this rug.  SUCH an incredible color palette for the eyes to drink up.  And it's not just the colors, but the design is that hard-to-find all-over design that hails from arguably the most sought-after rug weaving village in the world amongst collectors and interior designs alike.  BLOOMING jungle design with geometric palmettes shooting in a thousand directions reaching for the stars, the moon, the sun, and the roots in the ground trying to hug the world from every direction.  The medallion can be a rug all on its own - the magnificent two-toned abrash is one of the most unusual I've ever seen.  Petals in different shades just make for the most romantic and authentic date with the weavers - how beautiful, how random, and how memorable.  This is a piece that you will NEVER come by again - iconic jagged leaf and flower-head border that you see in only the best Northwest pieces.  Amazing wool, fantastic weave, and just all-around a 1 of 1 piece.  The condition of this rug is amazing for its nearly 100 years of age.  We have re-piled some areas and secured the fringe, the bindings, and also some areas in the field to give it strength with a very impressionable look.  See the pics, my grandpa did a great job on it and it is ready to be used, loved, and admired for another century to come! You will become obsessed with this piece - mark my words!

This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one in the world, no others are available.

Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.

Any questions about this rug? Don't hesitate to reach out!

We always recommend a high-quality custom cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding.

A note from us to you: Buying a rug is special; it's not just you finding the rug, but also the rug finding you. Think about the many coincidences that have to occur for you to find the rug of your dreams. Our rugs are woven by nomads in the villages and remote mountainous regions of the major rug weaving districts across the world. All of our rugs are genuinely old and one-of-a-kind. Like anything old and unique, they are filled with character, soul, and story. The story of a rug is something we think about a lot; who was the weaver(s)? Did they weave it for personal use, commerce, to gift, or trade? Who was the second owner, and the third!? Sometimes the little motifs and symbols in rugs can help tell the story, but we will never truly know - there's something beautiful about that. Alas, our joy is to curate these incredible pieces that speak to us, and to pass them along to their new owners to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come; both continuing to add to the story of the rug, and to the story of the new owners.
