About: STUNNING Geometric with strength and character! This is a very masculine piece with a strong aesthetic and domain message. Inspired by the mountains that these nomads lived in and around, this piece speaks to the essence and power in us all. There is something about a striking design that evokes something from us - it is impossible to ignore. This piece is a perfect display of that. In this piece, I see raw and uncontainable power and a true glimpse into the resilience of these weavers. Traveling weavers often weave pieces for themselves, and that's often when you get these "wide runner" or narrow medium-sized rugs. This is an in-between size for our current living quarters, but for them, this may have been used in their main living areas. It is a strong durable piece with sensational bands of organic and raw abrash (natural shifts in dyes) jetting through the field. This is because they used small batch dyes and whatever they could to dye and create their art. What better example to teleport you into a tribe or village than these arts? The more round motifs with linear angels are inspired by ram horns as you can see the resemblance in the bend and curve at the ends. Deep indigo from the indigo plant, espresso and earthy mocha from the soil, bark, and perhaps even volcanic ash, reds from the madder root, and even the dirty yellows from leaves of pears, sunflower petals, and/or spices. The deep espresso in this piece is oxidizing over time as many of the rugs that used specific ingredients to create this color did. It is an amazing example of science meets art through the lens of nature. Raw is a perfect word to sum this piece up, but not far are striking, powerful, tribal, and real! You will love this piece as it is forgiving, durable, and a statement!
This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one in the world, no others are available.
Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.

We always recommend a high-quality custom cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding.
A note from us to you: Buying a rug is special; it's not just you finding the rug, but also the rug finding you. Think about the many coincidences that have to occur for you to find the rug of your dreams. Our rugs are woven by nomads in the villages and remote mountainous regions of the major rug weaving districts across the world. All of our rugs are genuinely old and one-of-a-kind. Like anything old and unique, they are filled with character, soul, and story. The story of a rug is something we think about a lot; who was the weaver(s)? Did they weave it for personal use, commerce, to gift, or trade? Who was the second owner, and the third!? Sometimes the little motifs and symbols in rugs can help tell the story, but we will never truly know - there's something beautiful about that. Alas, our joy is to curate these incredible pieces that speak to us, and to pass them along to their new owners to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come; both continuing to add to the story of the rug, and to the story of the new owners.
