About:  ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITES.  Most of these dyes are from the SECOND BATH MATTER meaning the first bath matter produced richer and deeper reds, blues etc, so the second bath matter is like the residue still in the vat or the left-over dyes where these weavers dyed from for this piece that gives you this 100% natural, organic, and impromptu softer muted color palette in mostly the rusty persimmion and the super pale and muted down greens, and blues - WOW, how incredible is that?! Most commercial grade acid washed and chemically medication/treated rugs (known as antique washed or chemically washed) use harsh chemicals to achieve this more muted look, but not this one, this is the original baby!! Just look how each element in this piece is never symmetrical, instead, playful and done on a whim.  Each knot as much of a surprise to us as the weaver herself.  I am just BLOWN AWAY when I get lost in this piece, each meandering vine offering the eyes a treat as it takes you throughout and dropping you off at a lopsided palmette that wants to be a perfect circle but is anything but, oh how lovely! The space inside this piece speaks to the freedom and artistic expression the weaver had to create her masterpiece - each jagged leaf, dancing vine, winding root, and geometric flower petal looks HAND DRAWN, which in many ways did start out as a sketch in her mind and realized as knots on a loom.  This is why this Art is one of the greatest Arts known to mankind because you so clearly can see the humanity in every square inch.  If you've made it this far, then I already know everything I need to know about you, old soul. You will bask in the naive impromptu nature of this piece and marvel each full second your eyes are locked inside her beauty. If you can use this size, and are looking for something magical, here you go.  Welcome to the Splendor of Antique Carpets!

This rug is one-of-a-kind, only one in the world, no others are available.

Because of the nature and age of these older/antique handmade pieces, irregularities and age-related wear are likely to exist and are not considered defects.

Any questions about this rug? Don't hesitate to reach out!

We always recommend a high-quality custom-cut pad for any and all rugs; these pads are made for hand-knotted rugs. They create a body and support the knots of the rug, as well as prevent it from slipping and sliding.

A note from us to you: Buying a rug is special; it's not just you finding the rug, but also the rug finding you. Think about the many coincidences that have to occur for you to find the rug of your dreams. Our rugs are woven by nomads in the villages and remote mountainous regions of the major rug-weaving districts across the world. All of our rugs are genuinely old and one-of-a-kind. Like anything old and unique, they are filled with character, soul, and story. The story of a rug is something we think about a lot; who was the weaver(s)? Did they weave it for personal use, commerce, to gift, or trade? Who was the second owner, and the third!? Sometimes the little motifs and symbols in rugs can help tell the story, but we will never truly know - there's something beautiful about that. Alas, our joy is to curate these incredible pieces that speak to us, and to pass them along to their new owners to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come; both continuing to add to the story of the rug, and to the story of the new owners.
