Pile: Low with age-related wear and patina, to be expected for a piece of this age! Lovely distress in perfectly worn spots; subtle color run in some minor areas, and with age and particularly this family of rug they wear a very certain way so all of the threadbare spots to the foundation we’ve filled in with foundation as well as a couple small holes (size of a nickel) that we've all secured and filled in foundation and in general just tidied up any and all areas that needed some love - so, if age, character, imperfection, and story-telling through a past life isn’t your jam, this might not be your piece - but if you understand the nature of ancient rugs and welcome the idea of restoring and securing a rare old textile all by hand to give it another generation to live its best life - this is for you!! If this piece was untouched and in mint condition it would be DOUBLE or more the price! ✨
About: WOW!! My favorite TREE OF LIFE design is surrounded by Paradise Birds, Cypress Trees, and Dainty Flora Growing from Top to Bottom!; doesn't get better than this! Lovely colors with eggshell, earthy hues, cool blues and just the perfect amount of warmth - this is a well-balanced piece and a great example of this ancient and symbolic art packed with good juju and positive energy. Did you see the 4 Butterflies in the corner?!

Did they weave it for personal use, commerce, to gift, or trade? Who was the second owner, and the third!?
